Silver or Gold?

Have you ever stood in front of a mirror holding up two earrings and couldn’t decide if silver or gold would look better? One of the biggest struggles in fashion is knowing if you should wear gold or silver jewelry. Your undertone is what determines which will complement you the best. Some people can pull off both metals, while most have one that complements better than the other. For me, gold brightens my face, whereas silver dulls it. These kinds of effects are common if you’re wearing the wrong metal. Today, I’m going to help you find out which one will look the best on you.

If you have cool undertones, try silver jewelry, and if you have warm undertones, try gold. Some people have neutral undertones, which means pretty much any metal will complement their skin. To find out what undertone you have, take a look at your veins. If they have a blue/purple color, you most likely have a cool undertone. If they look greener, you probably have a warm undertone. And lastly, if you can see both colors, you have a neutral undertone.

There are times when you might just prefer a metal with a certain color. Some people have preferences like silver and black, while others prefer gold and black. You don’t have to limit what you wear to your undertone. If you have a warm undertone, but like how silver looks with black, then wear silver. It can be fun to experiment and see what makes you feel your best. Undertones are just a way to help if we struggle with choosing which one will go with our complexion. Jewelry is just one of the many ways to ‘wear’ your personality, so make sure you take the time to perfect it.
